RAIPUR: In connection with a divorce case, Chhattisgarh High Court said that it is cruelty to go to the husband's office and abuse him. A bench of Justices Gautam Bhaduri, Radhakishan Aggarwal and said this while delivering the verdict on an appeal filed by a woman in a divorce case.


The court was referring to the appeal filed by the woman against the verdict of the Raipur family court granting divorce to the man. The High Court upheld the judgment of the family court. The woman's husband is a government official.

In 2010, the woman, who is a widow from Raipur, got married. The woman had accused the man of having an affair with his colleague. She also wrote a letter to the minister requesting her husband to be transferred and to remove him from his position. She also insulted him by going to the office and saying that he was having an affair with his colleague.

Then the man approached the court stating that his wife was harassing him and his family. In December 2019, the family court granted the divorce. The woman approached the High Court against this.
