It is a good thing that Industry Minister P Rajeeve reacted in the Legislative Assembly against the planting of flags by political parties to stop the establishments and development projects started by entrepreneurs. It is a common occurrence in the state that industrial enterprises get shut down due to indiscriminate and unwise interventions. Strong criticisms are also raised against this social evil at all times. Sometimes there will be attempts to correct the mistake. However, in most cases, we see entrepreneurs giving up their dreams in frustration. If the workers of any party raise the flag in front of an establishment, it means that the work of the establishment cannot be carried forward. When those who planted the flags advance by threatening the people working there and forbidding customers from coming to the establishment, the owner can only close the establishment and accept defeat. Many of these problems could be solved if the leadership of the party leading those who planted the flag intervenes in time. However, they tend to stay away without intervening. The leadership becomes aware of the seriousness of the situation only when the entrepreneur closes the enterprise and commits suicide or leaves the state. Several small enterprises have been shut down in recent times due to protests and strikes organised by party workers in various parts of the state. Many entrepreneurs were forced to withdraw even after completing all the preparations before opening the enterprise. Some even committed suicide after losing every hope. Not only the small units but also the big industrial enterprises were shut down due to such agitators. A member of the Legislative Assembly had pointed out that around 50 large industries were closed down in the state after political parties staged protests by planting flags in front of the establishments. Many complaints are also coming up against the attitude of some government officials towards the entrepreneurs and their establishments. It is noteworthy that the minister also confirmed this indirectly. The minister said that officials are looking at investors with scepticism.

It is an achievement that 51,716 enterprises have been started in the state in five months. However, it remains to be seen how many of them will survive beyond the initial stage. Minister Rajeeve said that many of the machine parts needed for INS Vikrant are manufactured in around 100 small industrial units here. He proudly said that these units worked without losing a single day due to the strike. This is proof that we can be role models if there is a will.
