ALAPPUZHA: BJP state president K Surendran has come up with an explanation regarding the allegations against his son. He denied the allegation that his son was appointed as a Technical Officer at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Biotechnology (RGCB) on the basis of nepotism.
Dismissing the allegations, Surendran said that his son got the job as he was qualified. The BJP state president also said that he will take legal action against those who spread false news.
"My son's appointment is based on merit. Neither I nor anyone else on my behalf has intervened in this matter. Earlier, the media reported that my son had smuggled hawala money. Now my son's job is also a problem. My son has the right to work. He got the job in RGCB as he was qualified. I will take legal action against those spreading false news," Surendran said.
It is alleged that Surendran's son Harikrishna was appointed as Technical Officer at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Biotechnology by overlooking the criteria. However, RGCB explained that the appointment was made on the basis of merit following all the rules.
