BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh police have arrested a 19-year-old youth who murdered four watchmen in the state over the last few days. The arrested person has been identified as Shiv Prasad Dhurve. He was arrested by the police on Friday morning from Bhopal.

According to the police, Dhurve, who got inspired by the blockbuster movie KGF, committed the brutal murders in order to become famous. The police nabbed him with the help of the cyber cell. The accused committed three murders in Sagar and one in Bhopal.

The murders came to light on September 1 when three watchmen were killed over three days. Police said that Dhurve used different equipment like hammers and stones for the crimes. People sleeping outside their houses at night, seemed to be the prime target of the killer.

"Three watchmen were killed in three days. Firstly, a watchman sleeping outside a factory was killed using a hammer. Secondly, the watchman of the Arts and Commerce College in the same district was killed using heavy stones. Then, on Wednesday night, another watchman guard was killed using a spade in the Ratona district" the police said.

Meanwhile, a footage of Shiv Prasad Dhurve attacking one of his victims has now surfaced. The CCTV footage shows the killer, who was wearing shorts and a shirt, hitting the victim on the head with a stone and fleeing the scene.
