KOZHIKODE: The salaries in KSRTC will be distributed by the next day onwards, said Minister Antony Raju. As per the high court order, one-third of the salary arrears for the months of July and August will be distributed to the employees. The government has handed over Rs 150 crores for the purpose, last day. The salary distribution will be completed quickly. The coupons will not be imposed on employees. Those who are interested should buy it, said the minister. The chief minister has convened a meeting to decide the course of KSRTC, on Monday. It is expected that a decision will be made on matters, including duty reforms.
The coupons of Rs 18,500 given in lieu of salary should be accepted by only those employees, who are in need of it, said the minister. The coupon is the decision of the high court. It was not imposed by the government. The employees can use the coupons and buy products from stores such as the Horticorp, Supplyco among others.
For those who did not buy the coupon, the arrears will be paid in cash when salaries are distributed. A sum of Rs 50 crore granted by the finance department will be handed over to the KSRTC on Sunday. The management has the responsibility to implement the decisions taken in the meeting on Monday, said the minister.
