THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain is likely to lash the state today. Yellow alert has been sounded in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad. Officials have warned of heavy rain in the hilly areas.
The Central Meteorological Department informed that there is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated places in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur and light rain at isolated places in other districts of Kerala in the next three hours.
Fishermen should not venture into the sea. The Meteorological Centre has warned that the rain will intensify in the coming days. Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram and Wayanad are on yellow alert tomorrow and Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts are on yellow alert the day after tomorrow.
