ALAPPUZHA: Pallathuruthy boat club's Mahadevikadu Kattil Thekkethil Chundan has won the 68th Nehru Trophy Boat Race. The Chundan came first in 4.30.77 minutes.

This is a hat-trick win for Pallathuruthy. Santhosh Chacko is the captain of Kattil Thekkethil Chundan. Nadubhagom Chudan of NCDC Boat Club, Kumarakom won the second position. They finished in 4.31.57 minutes. Veeyapuram Chundan by Punnamada Boat Club got third place and Champakulam Chundan by Police Boat Club won fourth place.

77 boats including 22 chundan vallams participated in the race. Minister KN Balagopal inaugurated the race. Andaman and Nicobar Lieutenant Governor Rtd. Admiral DK Joshi was the chief guest.
