NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has granted more time to complete the trial in the actor assault case. The court directed to complete the trial before January 31.
The Supreme Court's action was on the plea filed by trial court judge Honey M Varghese. The court also informed that all parties should cooperate to complete the trial. The court also directed that the progress report of the trial be submitted within four weeks. The plea was considered by a bench comprising justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Bela M Trivedi.
Meantime, the Supreme Court will also consider the plea filed by Dileep today seeking to direct the trial court to complete the trial in the case in a timely manner.
Dileep demanded the Supreme Court not to allow those who have been cross examined once in the case to be examined again. Dileep alleged that the investigating officers, the prosecution and the survivor are obstructing the trial court judge from completing the trial and pronouncing the verdict.
