KOLLAM: The Anchalummood police arrested a youth who tried to marry a woman after forcefully abducting her. The police arrested Ananthu (23) of Aryanad. He tried to abduct an employee of a private hospital in Kadavoor and a native of Thankasseri.

Ananthu, who was in a relationship with the woman earlier, waited outside and when she came out after duty, threatened her at gunpoint and abducted her in a car. He beat her when she tried to phone somebody. He tried to abduct after she rejected his love. Following her objection, he abandoned the move. The police arrested him on the complaint of the woman. The accused has been remanded.
