KOLLAM: The 14-year-old boy, who was abducted from his house in Kannanallur was rescued by the police through a police move that took five hours.


Monday, 6.30 pm: The boy was taken away in a car by a six-man team.


6.50​:​ Parents reach out to Kottiyam Police Station. The team under the leadership of CI Jimstal to the incident spot.


7.10am: Car's number was taken from the CCTV footage of the opposite house.


7.30: Footage was sent to police WhatsApp and Tamil Nadu police. The car passes Attingal as per indications.


8.36 pm: The owner of the car was traced using the number plate. The car was rented one week ago from a rent-a-car establishment in Kuzhithurai. The number of the person who rented the car was received from there. As per the tower location of the number, the person passed via Kazhakkoottam at 8.36 pm.


10 pm: The car evades police near Mannakkallu and went into a small lane.


The abandoned car was found near Pattiyakaala. There was a dent in the front of the car. The gang then went to Tamilnadu by autorickshaw.


11.30 pm: The autorickshaw was stopped by ASI Yakoob and team at Kozhivila check-post in Parassala. One managed to escape. The police find the 14-year-old in a weak state along with Marthandam Kattathura native Biju.


Tuesday morning 4 am: The boy was handed over to the parents after taking him to Kottiyam police station.

As per the boy, he was sedated using a pill while inside the car. Before that, he was dragged into the car. Only after the police came, did he regain consciousness.
