CHEMPAZHANTHY: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that since 1957, the Left governments have been implementing the great ideas of Sree Narayana Guru like education for all and the development of society through industrial advancement. The Guru, who opposed evil practices, realized that the society of Kerala needed schools, not temples, the CM said. The Chief Minister was inaugurating the 168th Jayanti Maha Sammelanam of Sree Narayana Gurudeva at Sree Narayana Gurukulam, Chempazhanthy.
"Sree Narayana Guru was not a man who became a saint through rituals and discourses alone. He contributed practical ideas for social progress. He tried to put it into action. The Guru realized that progress in the field of education alone is not enough for the development of society and industrial progress is also necessary. In 1905, the Guru took the initiative to educate the general public about the need for industrial and agricultural advancement by organizing the Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition.
This kind of industrial development is what we need most to build a new Kerala. To achieve such progress, the government is planning to make a big progress in the industrial sector by revising the rules, implementing the single window system and observing the year of entrepreneurs. The government is also making efforts to improve the higher education sector as well. All these are in line with the Guru's ideas," the CM said.
"In the history of the world, there has been great bloodshed in the name of religious rivalry and racial hatred. Guru's thoughts are the answer to the question of where is the only solution against these hatreds. The Guru is a phenomenon that was born at a time when humanity had completely collapsed. The Guru humanized society and life at a time when a large section of people was kept in darkness. Many leaders, including EMS and VT, were inspired by Guru," the CM added.
Kadakampally Surendran MLA presided over the function. K Muralidharan MP, Sree Narayana Gurukulam Secretary Swami Subhangananda, Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Satchidananda, Board member Swami Sookshmananda, Gokulam Group of Companies Chairman Gokulam Gopalan, Kerala Kaumudi News Editor Dr. Indrababu, Councilor Chembazahnthi Udayan and others were present.
