THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister MB Rajesh has announced that aggressive and rabies-infected dogs will be killed in the wake of the rampant stray dog ​​menace in the state. The state government will approach the Supreme Court for this. The move comes as the killing of stray dogs is an illegal act.

The minister said that a vaccination drive would be organised to solve the stray dog menace. The month-long vaccination drive will begin on September 20th. The minister was speaking to media persons after a high-level meeting convened to decide on ways to tackle the stray dog ​​menace. He said that the government has taken immediate steps to solve the stray dog menace.

"Shelters will be opened at the panchayat level for stray dogs. More people will be trained to catch dogs. We will seek the help of Kudumbashree and the Covid Volunteer Force for this. We have identified the hotspots where the stray dog menace has intensified," he said.
