PATHANAMTHITTA: Man missing cases are on the rise in Pathanamthitta, as many cases gets reported on a daily basis in the district. Many go missing while traveling to educational institutions and workplaces and even from their own homes. A good percentage of the missing are girls, women and young boys. Most of them leave their house following fights. At a time, thirty to forty-six people went missing from the district in a month. Among these are those who do not return and cannot be found.
Recently, an investigation team found a missing minor girl in a lodge in Tamil Nadu. This incident later became a POCSO case. Many such incidents are repeated. Those who leave their place and home in pursuit of love are also in the missing list. Missing posters are regularly posted in public places and the authorities are unable to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
Flings through apps
The fact that social media is the intermediary that paves the way for many missing cases is often forgotten. From Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, to dating apps, there are huge scams that await their prey. In connection with online classes, children are in possession of mobile phones, which creates conditions for such incidents.
Of the 42 such cases reported in January this year, 28 were girls. Twelve boys and two minor girls are in this. Not one has been found yet. The figures are repeated every month in the same manner.
