THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Planning Board is preparing a study report to make KSRTC profitable. The study is about the Karnataka model. The Finance Minister has appointed a committee chaired by Planning Board member V Namashivayam to study how the Karnataka Transport Corporation is running profitably and submit a report.
The Planning Board had suggested that the Karnataka model should be implemented when the discussions related to the budget took place. The committee will study about rural-urban services, ticket prices and corporation management methods in Karnataka. It will submit the report to the finance department. The recommendations in the report submitted by Prof Sushil Khanna during the previous government are now being implemented.
Record collection for KSRTC on Monday - ₹ 8.4 Crore
Meanwhile, KSRTC recorded a daily collection of Rs 8.4 crore on Monday. This is an all-time record in the history of the corporation. 3941 buses run services on that day.
