THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The new KPCC committee list, which was prepared through hard work and consensus, has come out. The list consists of 310 members, including 285 block representatives, senior leaders and parliamentary party representatives. There are 77 newcomers and 28 women. The first meeting of the new committee will be held today.

Grumblings have started in many districts following the release of the new KPCC list. It has been alleged that the High Command's directive that 50 per cent of the newcomers should be youths was not followed. Many also criticised the omission of current KPCC office bearers. Representation was given to newcomers by excluding those who left the party, the elderly and those who were judged by the leadership as less capable.

Three of the 285 are part of the new 3 Block Committees. Apart from this, KPCC President K Sudhakaran, Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan, former presidents AK Antony, Vayalar Ravi, Thenala Balakrishna Pillai, CV Padmarajan, K Muralidharan, Ramesh Chennithala, VM Sudheeran, MM Hassan, Mullapally Ramachandran and 14 members of the Parliamentary Party in the Legislative Assembly, including Oommen Chandy, have been included. Prathapvarma Thampan, who died recently, will be replaced by another.
