THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Sudhakaran will be re-elected as the new president of KPCC as agreed by the state Congress leadership. As it is the stage of organizational elections, Sudhakaran will remain as caretaker president till then.

The KPCC general body meeting held yesterday as part of the election proceedings passed a one-line resolution assigning AICC president Sonia Gandhi to appoint the new president, co-office-bearers and AICC members. Opposition Leader VD Satheesan, K Muraleedharan, MM Hassan, Kodikkunnil Suresh and KC Joseph supported the motion presented by Ramesh Chennithala. With all the participants in the meeting agreeing, the meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent.

The general body meeting was held at Indira Bhavan yesterday morning. The meeting in the presence of Pradesh Returning Officer for Organizational Elections G Parameshwara, Assistant Returning Officer Anwar Azhagan and AICC General Secretary in charge of Kerala Tariq Anwar formally completed the procedures as part of Organizational Elections.
