KOCHI: The wife of murder victim Chandrabose, who was killed by businessman Mohammad Nisham, said she was happy in the High Court’s decision to dismiss Nisham’s plea to quash his life sentence. Jamanthi added that she wanted Nisham to rot in prison for the rest of his life.

The High Court dismissed the plea of Mohammad Nisham requesting to quash the life sentence handed out to him by Trissur Additional Session Court and also upheld the decision of the lower court.

Jamanthi said that she went from court to court seeking justice and added that it was at the last moment that she began getting relief. She said that every police officer gave her support and thanked everyone who stood by her. She also pointed out that there was a move to accuse the hospital which treated Chandrabose for his death.

Jamanthi added that she did not want death sentence for her husband’s murderer but wanted the life sentence so that he can rot in prison for the rest of his life.

Chandrabose who was working as a security personnel at an uptown residential area, Sobha City, was brutally attacked by Mohammad Nisham after the former got late to open the gates and asked for identity card. Though, he tried to run away after Nisham attacked him, the businessman followed him in his vehicle and ran him down. After hitting him with his car, Nisham carried Chandrabose to the parking area and beat him up viciously resulting in his death.

Mohammad Nisham was arrested on 29 January, 2015 for the crime. The Additional Session Court of Trissur sentenced him to 24 years in prison and fined him Rs 80,30,000. The High Court has upheld this sentence while rejecting Nisham’s plea to quash it.
