TALIPARAMBA: Police have arrested youths for abducting a 17-year-old girl and sexually abusing her. The arrested persons are Wayanad Thondernad native K Vijesh and Pulppally native KK Manoj. Vijesh has been booked for sexually abusing the girl. Manoj has been accused of helping Vijesh to abduct and sexually abuse the girl.

On September 14, the girl's mother had lodged a missing complaint with the police as her daughter did not return from school. In the subsequent investigation, police found that the girl was with Vijesh in the Kuttyadi area. The group, which lived in a house in Kuttyadi, escaped from the area after realizing that the police were following them.

Following an investigation conducted with the help of the cyber cell, a police team led by Taliparamba CI AV Dinesh and Principal SI Dinesan Kotheri arrested the accused at Thondi near Peravoor. The police seized the car used to kidnap the girl. ASI Shaju and probationary SI Rumesh were among the team that caught the accused.
