THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje said that the Chief Minister is not doing anything for the development of Sivagiri mutt. The minister was talking to the press after her visit to Attingal Parliamentary Constituency.

The centre allocated funds for infrastructure development because there are many factors that attract visitors like the natural beauty, Sabarimala, villages of Sree Narayanaguru and Shankaracharya. However, the activities are not properly supervised by the state. This has been clarified in the meeting of Union Transport Minister.

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 66.4 crore for the development of Sivagiri Mutt, which is associated with the Guru. It is a Sivagiri tourism circuit project connecting Sivagiri Ashram, Aruvipuram Temple and Chempazhanthy Sree Narayana Gurukulam. The Kerala Tourism Department, which took over the project, did not complete the project. Finally, on the instructions of the Union Minister Amit Shah, ITDC was given the task of construction. The minister said that the project will be completed within 12 months.

The Union Minister said that she is requesting the Chief Minister and the Agriculture Minister to implement the Central Government's agricultural schemes and that there is no politics in development. She also accused that even the Governor has no security in Kerala.
