THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The project to avoid middlemen and delays to settle files Software (Integrated Local Governance Management System – ILGMS) in 940 panchayats is a success. In six months 50,22,463 files went through it, out of which 43,38,058 (86.37%) have been settled.

The files had applications and complaints for birth, death, and marriage certificates, trade license, ownership certificates, and social security pensions.

Software was developed by Information Kerala Mission (IKM) in cooperation with Panchayat Department. An applicant can check the status of his or her application in the app including details of the officer going through the application and if there is any delay in it. There is no need to go to the office to apply and pay for the service. We can apply through Software or through Akshay. Also, help is provided by the front office in the panchayats.

Software was first implemented in September 2020 at Chemuruthi gram panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram on a test basis. After that, it was extended to cover 300 gram panchayats. By September 2021, online services and E payments were provided by Software. By April 2022, every panchayat in Kerala was covered by Software.
