THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that the new state council will take action on C Divakaran's criticism. Kanam state this in ‘Mukhamukham’ program organized by the district journalists' union.
‘C Divakaran said his opinion. One can comment in the party units but not outside, that’s not right. The new state council will look into everything related to the conference after the party congress.
The new council will decide where to include those who were excluded from the state council due to age restriction and those who are currently active. 20 per cent of the council has changed. 40 per cent are under 50-years of age. Candidates for the state council are nominated from the district groups. The conference agrees to that. In such case, some people might be excluded,’ stated Kanam responding to excluding E S Bijimol.
‘After the party congress, CPI will work for Lok Sabha elections. A foundation should be laid in Kerala for the growth of the unity of the opposition. We must overcome the setback faced in last election. The state conference decided to strengthen the LDF and protect the government from opposition attacks. Conferences in all units have decided to strengthen the only Left government in India.
When it comes to fronts, it cannot be desired that the number of seats to contest should be increased as the party grows. The strategy is to increase success rate in contested seats. It worked in the last local elections. The party could not continue the victory during 2016 assembly elections. Will check about the loss of sitting seats,’ said the party secretary. He also said that they will decide what to do when Muslim League leaves UDF and joins LDF.
