AHMEDABAD: In another major drug bust, a Pakistani boat was caught with heroin worth Rs 350 crores. All six people in the boat were taken into custody.
The boat carrying the drugs was caught in a joint operation by the Coast Guard and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) around midnight yesterday. The Coast Guard and ATS surrounded the boat after seeing it in a suspicious situation at sea. Later, 50 kg of heroin was recovered from the boat after it was brought to the port of Kutch. These were stored in five sacks in the boat. Officials said that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
This is the sixth drug hunt jointly conducted by Gujarat ATS and Coast Guard in the last one year. On September 14, a Pakistani boat carrying drugs was caught off the coast of Gujarat.
