BENGALURU: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the RSS during Bharat Jodo Yatra. Rahul said that RSS had no role in India's freedom struggle. He alleged that the RSS had helped the British in the freedom struggle and that VD Savarkar had received aid from the British. Rahul was interacting with the media in Bengaluru as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

"RSS had no role in India's freedom struggle. As far as I know, RSS helped the British. Their leader Savarkar received financial aid from the British government. BJP cannot forget any of these facts. It was the Congress and its leaders who fought for freedom," Rahul said.

Responding to a question regarding the ban on the Popular Front, Rahul Gandhi said that those who spread hatred and violence are anti-national and should be fought against.
