KOCHI: In a horrific incident, a Malayali expat was killed after being hit by an overspeeding private bus. The incident took place near Kochupally in Thoppumpady. The deceased has been identified as Edakochi native Lawrence Varghese (61). Lawrence was hit by the bus while he was going to a nearby shop after parking his bike on the roadside.

Lawrence was hit by the bus named 'Shana' which operates on the Kakkanad-Fort Kochi route. Lawrence was soon rushed to Government Hospital, Karuvelipady and later shifted to Kalamassery Medical College. He died at around 9 pm. Lawrence returned from the Gulf the other day. Wife- Anila, children- Anju and Anna.
