MALAPPURAM: A prisoner from Malappuram lodged in Tihar Jail on charges of terrorist links, has died. His relatives got information yesterday that Muhammed Ameen (27) of Malappuram Mankada Kadannamanna Kathodi, arrested by the NIA, has died.
Tihar Jail via Mankada police informed his relatives. The NIA arrested Ameen, a student in Bengaluru, on charges of having links with the ISIS in March 2021. The NIA submitted a 5000-page charge sheet in the court in connection with the case. Attacks were planned in Kerala and Karnataka. Tried to recruit people to ISIS. The charge sheet also mentioned that he was involved in terrorist activities in Kashmir in 2020.
His relatives got the information that Ameen was admitted to the hospital due to headache and vomiting. It was informed that expert treatment was prescribed but died. The authorities had asked his relatives to reach Delhi Sunday morning.
