LONDON: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and ministers are visiting London today as part of their European tour. The Europe-UK regional meet, a part of the Loka Kerala Sabha will be held in London today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the regional conference at St James Court Hotel in London at 9 am (1.30 pm Indian time). The conference is being held with the aim of implementing the high directions of the Third World Kerala Sabha held in Thiruvananthapuram last June and expanding the activities of the World Kerala Sabha.


Members of Loka Kerala Sabha from European region and invited guests from various professions will participate in the conference. Malayalees who have proved their ability in social, cultural and political fields, student representatives, health workers etc. are invited.


The aim is to build a new Kerala fuelled by a knowledge-based economy. The meeting will also discuss the challenges faced by migrants while settling and making themselves a name in foreign realms.


Planning Board Vice Chairman Prof V K Ramachandran, NORKA Roots Resident Vice Chairman P Sreeramakrishnan, State Planning Board Member Dr K Ravi Raman, NORKA Roots Director Dr M. Anirudhan will lead the talks respectively.


A wide-ranging non-resident Malayalee conference is also being organized in connection with the regional conference. The chief minister and other ministers will address the Pravasi General Conference to be held at 4 pm (8.30 PM IST). Apart from the chief minister, Ministers P Rajiv, V Sivankutty, Veena George, NORKA Principal Secretary Suman Billa, Delhi Government OSD Venu Rajamani, NORKA Roots Vice Chairman M A Yusuf Ali, Directors Ravi Pillai, Azad Moopan, O V Mustafa, CV Rappai, J K Menon, CEO K Harikrishnan Namboothiri and General Manager Ajith Kolassery will also attend the conference.

Under the leadership of the Loka Kerala Sabha, regional meets are held with the aim of increasing non-resident cooperation and interactions. Apart from the general problems of the expatriates, will also hear the problems of the people of different land groups. The government has decided to organize regional meets with the aim of solving the problem. The second conference is being held in London. The first regional conference was held in UAE in 2019.
