KOCHI: The police confirmed that it is Jomon, the driver of the tourist bus that killed nine people, including five students in Vadakkanchery, who is in the viral visuals of a man seen dancing while driving the bus. He told police that it was captured during a trip to Pune years ago. However, Jomon said that he is not sure whether there were passengers in the bus or not when he was dancing and driving the bus. The visuals of him dancing after getting up from his seat and driving the bus in high speed had gone viral soon after the Vadakkanchery accident.

Meantime, the investigation by the motor vehicle department clarified that the cause of Vadakkancheri accident was the high speed of the tourist bus and the negligence of the driver and there is no fault from the side of the KSRTC bus. The report of the district transport office rejected the statement of Jomon that sudden braking of the KSRTC bus led to the accident. It is clear from the visuals that the KSRTC bus is coming exactly on the left side and just behind was the tourist bus in high speed. The tourist bus driver was trying to overtake the car that was passing on the right side and reach in front of the KSRTC bus on the left side. This led to lose control and then rammed into the bus. Further action will be taken on the basis of the report submitted to the transport commissioner.
