LUCKNOW: A pregnant girl, who was raped three months ago was burnt alive in Mainpuri district, Uttar Pradesh under Karuvalli police station limits. A minor girl was the victim of this shocking incident. The police said that efforts are underway to arrest the three accused involved in the crime.

The girl’s mother revealed that her daughter was raped three months ago by a youth named Abhishek, who lives in the same village. But the girl didn’t disclose this to her family. Later, when the girl complained of severe stomach pain, she was taken to hospital and it was found that she was pregnant. Then the Gram Sabha was informed and they decided to marry off the girl to the youth who raped her. Meanwhile, the mother of the accused took the girl to her home and then poured petrol on her and set her on fire.

The girl suffered severe burns in the attack and was admitted to a district hospital and later shifted to another hospital. Meanwhile, the girl died. On the basis of the complaint of the girl's mother, a case was registered under various sections, including POCSO act, against those involved in the crime.
