NEW DELHI: AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday severely criticized the BJP and the central government for removing the name of Tipu Sultan from the train between Bengaluru and Mysore. In a tweet, he said that the reason BJP hates Tipu Sultan is because he fought three wars against the British and instead of renaming the Tipu Express, another train could have been named after Wodeyar.
Owaisi took to Twitter and said that BJP cannot erase Tipu's legacy by changing the name of the train and Tipu Sultan, who used to terrorize the British during his lifetime, is now terrorizing the slaves of the British.
"BJP govt renamed Tippu Express to Wodeyar Express. Tipu irks BJP because he waged 3 wars against its British masters. Another train could have been named after Wodeyars. BJP will never be able to erase Tipu’s legacy. He scared British while alive & scares British slaves even now", he tweeted.
