THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has signed a memorandum of understanding to enable health sector professionals including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff from Kerala to work in Britain. Initially there will be more than 3,000 vacancies. For this, UK Employment Fest will be organized in November.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and NORKA Roots Resident Vice-Chairman P Sreeramakrishnan at the Europe-UK Regional Conference held in London.
The decision was made in discussions with NORKA Roots and The Navigo and Humber Health, which provide services to the National Health Service in Britain. Navigo Chief Executive Officer Michael Reeve received the MoU from Norca Roots CEO Harikrishnan Namboothiri. International Health and Social Care Recruitment Taskforce Deputy Head Dave Howarth, Dr Joji Kuriakose, Dr Sivin Sam and General Manager Ajith Kolassery were also present.
