NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old teen has been arrested for the murder of a seven-year-old girl who was raped and then burnt to death. The incident took place in Kaithal district of Haryana. The accused is Pavan, the girl’s neighbor.

The girl went missing on Saturday. The girl went out of the house to answer nature’s call. The family and nearby residents searched for the girl as she didn’t return for a long time. But they couldn’t find her. Then they informed the police. In the investigation conducted by the police, the body of the girl was found half-burnt near the forest.

As part of the investigation, the police collected the CCTV footage of the nearby areas. From this, the accused Pavan was found talking to the girl. Then Pawan was taken into police custody and interrogated and the accused confessed to the crime. The police informed that the girl's body will be sent to the forensic lab for a detailed examination.
