KOCHI: Key information regarding human sacrifice in Thiruvalla has surfaced. Bhagwat, a traditional therapist and native of Thiruvalla, his wife Laila, and Shihab, a native of Perumbavoor, were arrested in connection with the case. The therapist and his wife reportedly killed the women for financial prosperity.
The deceased have been identified as Padmam from Kadavanthra's Ponnuruni and Rosli from Kaladi. Both women are said to be in their fifties. Rosli was the first to be taken for human sacrifice. Shihab introduced the woman to the therapist. Then she was taken to Pathanamthitta saying that it was for another purpose. It is reported that later a pooja was performed and sacrifices were made. The women were killed by slitting their throats after which the bodies were cut into pieces and buried.
Padmam, a lottery seller, went missing on September 27. The investigation conducted by the police found that similar missing cases had been reported in the area before. Shihab made a fake account on Facebook and became friends with the therapist. According to reports, the agent made the therapist believe that if he pleases a Siddha based in Perumbavoor, he will get wealth and for this he should perform human sacrifice.
