PATHANAMTHITTA: Muhammad Shafi had planned the kidnapping of the victims of human sacrifice very carefully. He did not allow any change to his meticulous planning and he found success in it. However, the police do not believe that Shafi committed all this alone and suspects the role of more individuals in the crime.

The police are also investigating if more human sacrifices were committed in the state. The police have taken Shafi’s vehicle into custody, which he used to kidnap the victims.

Two months ago the police got information about the woman who went missing. However, the information wasn’t clear and the investigating officers could not make headway. In the meantime, women lottery sellers told the police that a person approached them asking if they can travel to Thiruvalla. They all knew Shafi who runs a shop at Kadavanthara. And they said that one woman went with Shafi.

When the police took Shafi into custody and questioned him, he revealed the details of the gruesome human sacrifice.

The police have uncovered the body parts of one of the victims. It was dug about fifty meters from the house of Bhagaval Singh and belonged to one of the victims, Padma. The body was buried in a bushy area near the house.

The accused persons showed the police the exact place where they had buried the victim.
