PATHANAMTHITTA: The BJP has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the incident of human sacrifice on the grounds of black magic in Elanthoor, Pathanamthitta. BJP state president K Surendran said that what happened in Elanthoor was an extremely cruel incident. Surendran said that the murder was done in the style of religious terrorists and the fact that a CPM worker is behind it increases the seriousness of the incident. He was responding to the media after visiting Elanthoor.

Surendran also opined that if religious terrorists are behind this, they should also be brought out. "How did the CPM member who took part in the 'Vanitha Mathil' for renaissance to allow women to enter Sabarimala temple do this primitive act? Strong action should be taken. CPM should respond to the incident" Surendran said.

The State Human Rights Commission has registered a case regarding the incident. The commission has also sought a report from the state police chief. Women's Commission Chairperson Adv. P. Sathidevi visited the site of human sacrifice in Elanthoor.
