KOZHIKODE: Two persons, including a woman, were arrested here by the police for possessing MDMA. Prakashan P Padannayil, Kozhikode City Anti-Narcotics Cell Assistant Commissioner, and his team arrested Mohammad Althaf (27), a native of Kozhikode South Beach, and Shilpa (23), a native of Kaavannur in Areekode. The accused were caught with five grams of MDMA, which was kept for selling, from a private lodge near Annie Hall Road. A weighing machine used to weigh the drugs was also found. Mohammad Althaf, who was arrested, had previously run a shop called Alibhai in the South Beach area. Town Circle Inspector Biju MV said that they are investigating the source of the drugs and to whom they sold it.
