KOCHI: The Kochi City Police Commissioner on Wednesday said that the police understood from the beginning that the missing case in Kochi was not ordinary. Speaking to the media, he said that the case of human sacrifice was proved through rigorous investigation and extensive investigation. The commissioner also congratulated the investigation team.

"The CCTV footage of Shafi and the woman going in the Scorpio car was crucial in the case. Shafi is the main planner of human sacrifice. He planned, implemented and ensnared women. Shafi was taken into custody and interrogated, but he did not cooperate", he said.

"Shafi studied only up to the 6th standard. He is addicted to sexual perversion. There is no place in Kerala where Shafi didn't go. He is a psychopath. He delights in cruelty. There are about 10 cases against him in the last fifteen years".

"The investigation reached Pathanamthitta through scientific investigation. Since 2019, Shafi has been in contact with Bhagawal Singh. Bhagawal and Laila obeyed everything he said. The couple has no criminal background. The accused have confessed to the crime. But I don't think they feel guilty. It will be investigated whether more people are involved in the case. It is reported that the accused have eaten human flesh. Evidence is being collected in this regard.", he added.

The commissioner also stated that there was no failure in the investigation into Roslin's disappearance. "She went missing in June but a complaint was filed only in August. Shafi took advantage of the financial problems of the two women. The killing was carried out using weapons including knives", the officer said.

The commissioner added that that the police will check whether a similar crime has been committed in the past.
