PATHANAMTHITTA: CPM Pathanamthitta area secretary PR Pradeep said that Bhagawal Singh, the accused in the Elanthoor double murder case, had worked with the party but wasn't a member. He said that although he did not have any duties, he participated in all the party events. PR Pradeep also said that he noticed the change in the behavior of the couple.
Padmam (52) from Panchavadi Colony in Kochi's Ponnurunni and Rosli (49) of Alappuzha Kainadi were brought to Elanthoor for human sacrifice. The remains were found in four pits near Bhagawal Singh's house. The police also stated that the women were brutally tortured before the murder. The police also informed that the human sacrifice was done to achieve economic prosperity. Both the murders were committed at Bhagawal Singh's house. Ernakulam City Commissioner CH Nagaraju said that the first accused in the case, Muhammad Shafi, is a mentally ill person who finds sexual pleasure in injuring women's private parts.
