THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A special team has been appointed to investigate Elanthoor human sacrifice case. The special team has been formed to investigate the cases registered at Kadavanthra and Kalady police stations in connection with the murder of Padma and Rosly. Kochi City Deputy Police Commissioner S Sasidharan is the head of the special investigation team. Perumbavoor ASP Anuj Paliwal is the chief investigating officer. Ernakulam Central Assistant Commissioner C Jayakumar, Kadavanthra SHO Baiju Jose, Kalady SHO Anoop NA are the other investigating officers in the team. Elamakkara station SI Ayin Sabu and Kalady station SI Bipin TB are other team members. The investigation team will work under the direct supervision of ADGP, Law and Order Division.

The accused have been remanded for two weeks by the court today. Shafi is the main accused, Bhagwal Singh and Laila are the second and third accused respectively. The remand report states that the murders were committed for appeasing Goddess. Padma’s body was cut into 56 pieces and later buried. Rosly was killed by Laila and Bhagwal Singh amputated her breast, says the report. The accused have been shifted to Kakkanad jail.
