KOCHI: The accused in the human sacrifice case have confessed that they ate the flesh of the victims after murdering them. Bhagwal Singh and Laila told the police that although Shafi advised them that the liver and certain organs should be eaten raw, they cooked it and ate it. They said that the curry was made as per the instructions of Shafi. The couple also said that Shafi had insisted that they should give the meat of the victims to others as well, but they refused to do it.

Shafi asked 68-year-old Bhagwal Singh to eat certain body parts as a panacea to increase his physical strength and prolong his lifespan. All three ate human flesh together. Shafi ate it with great pleasure. The accused, who stored the flesh in the refrigerator, cooked it and ate it over several days.

Shafi said that it was his long-time desire to eat the body parts of women. The accused cooked the flesh of the victims after burying other parts of the body. Shafi gave the flesh to Bhagwal Singh and Laila after performing a pooja.
