KOCHI: Three years ago, Shafi created a fake Facebook profile under the name ‘Sreedevi’ and put out a post to contact him for rituals that would bring prosperity. The profile picture was a flower and nothing else. Bhagaval Singh, a traditional massager from Elanthoor, got trapped by this.

Through chatting with Bhagaval Singh, Mohammad Shafi got every detail about his life and about his house. After that ‘Sreedevi’ began to divert the chat towards black magic.

Sreedevi only used to chat with Bhagaval Singh. Even when he tried to call her on the phone, Sreedevi did not allow it. Interestingly, Bhagaval Singh never seemed suspicious of this behavior.

Mohammad Shafi, with a six standard education, put his own sim card in his wife’s mobile to create a Facebook account. His chatting with Bhagaval Singh begins just after he completes his cooking duties at his hotel.

Once Shafi realized that Bhagaval Singh has taken an interest in black magic through his chat with Sreedevi, he introduced a new character – the holy man who lives in Perumbavoor, who was none than Shafi himself. He surprised Bhagaval Singh and his wife, Laila, with this prior knowledge of the couple’s details through his chatting.

Mohammad Shafi came as the holy man and as an expert in the black arts. By that time, Bhagaval Singh and his wife were ready to do anything for prosperity and wealth.
