THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to give financial aid of Rs.2 lakhs to the families of the victims who died in the Vadakkencherry bus accident. The decision was made at the Cabinet meeting. It was also decided to give financial aid to those who are injured in the accident.

The Cabinet also decided to form a council for the development of Kuttanad. The Chief Minister will become the Chairman of the Kuttanad Ekopana Samithi and the Agriculture Minister will become the Vice Chairman.

The council’s main responsibilities include coordination and reviewing of the present activities. The council will also see to it that projects are not repeated.
