THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that heavy rainfall is likely to continue in Kerala for five days. Yellow alert has been issued in Idukki and Wayanad districts on Thursday following this. 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain is expected within the next 24 hours.

Yellow alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts on tomorrow and on Saturday. Kozhikode and Wayanad districts have also been placed on a yellow watch on Saturday. On Sunday, the alert applies to districts of Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad and to Malappuram, Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts on Monday.

Meanwhile, the IMD has informed that there is no disruption to fishing in Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts. Squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55kmph is predicted over Comorin area, Gulf of Mannar and Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast on Thursday. So, IMD has advised fishermen not to venture in the above areas for the mentioned period.
