The state is in shock as the news about human sacrifice and the gruesome murders came out. It is reported that the killers even ate victim’s flesh. In the wake of such a situation, let’s look into an investigative report about the increasing black-magic centres and related cases in Kerala.

Kerala tops the literacy rate charts in the country, but the human sacrifice case has shaken the entire state. Muhammed Shafi, the main accused is a criminal with a psycho mind. He is a person who finds pleasure in cruelty and will do anything to attain his goal. He is a pervert and expert in luring women. He even confessed to the police that it was his long-time wish to eat body parts of women. They are investigating whether he committed more human sacrifices.

As per his Aadhar card, he is the son of Mansoor of Vezhapalli House, Vengola, Perumbavoor. He left his village at the age of 16. For Perumbavoor Ponjasherry natives, he is known as Rasheed. In Idukki, where he lived 25 years ago, he is known under the name ‘Andhra Koya’. He was a thief and was involved in petty cases back then. The police are now looking into missing cases in the areas where he lived.

Illusion

Black-magic is done in pretext of getting treasure, luring and for causing harm to enemies. It is not confined to a particular religion. Black mass, prayers for jinn are also another part of this. Sacrificial killing of chickens as part of rituals, menstruation blood etc are all other such black magic activities. People falls for this because they believe that this brings prosperity and wealth. Even educated people and top-level officials fall into such traps.

Sacrifices

Such sacrifices are now being reported from different parts of Kerala starting from Panamkutty, Idukki to Elanthoor. Although the ways are different, people are lured into this for similar reasons. Ramakalmedu human sacrifice case of 1995 showed that people would not hesitate to sacrifice own blood for this. Human sacrifice was last reported in Puthupally in 2021.
