THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two IPS officers from Kerala has been assigned for Central deputation. ADGP Vijay Sakhare who was in charge of Law and Order in the state has been appointed in National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Crime Branch IG Ashok Yadav was appointed as IG in BSF. Their tenure is for five years.
The Union Home Ministry has written to the Chief Secretary to release both of them from state service. No release order has been issued for Sakhare. He had applied for the post of zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai. If he refuses central deputation, he will be banned for five years and blacklisted.
If Sakhare goes for Central deputation, then changes will be reshuffle within the top police ranks. Sakhare led the investigation of severe controversial cases in the state. There was also criticism against him related to gold smuggling case as well.
