VIJAYAWADA: The twenty-fourth party congress of the CPI will begin today with a massive rally on the soil of Andhra, which has the revolutionary spirit of communist and peasant struggles.
The formation of broad unity against the BJP-RSS alliance at the national level will be the main topic of discussion for the party Congress. The CPI, which had called for a broad unity of the secular and democratic parties including the Congress in the previous party congress, now does not address the Congress by name. At present, the party is of the opinion that Congress too can become a part of the broad unity by increasing its credibility. Hanumanpet and its surroundings have turned red with flagpoles. Hanumanpet is the headquarters of the Communist Party state committee in Vijayawada.
