CHENNAI: Manickam, father of M Sathya, the girl who was pushed to death in front of a moving train, died of heart attack. The girl was pushed to death in front of a train at St Thomas Mount Railway Station near Chennai.


Manickam suffered a chest pain after hearing her news and was admitted in the hospital but died later. Sathya’s mother Ramalekshmi is the head constable of Adambakkam police station. In the meanwhile, the stalker identified as Sathish (23), who fled after the incident, has been nabbed. He was caught from Thoraipakkam.

The brutal murder happened yesterday afternoon. Sathish came there when Sathya, a third-year BBA student, was on her way to college. A verbal dispute broke out between the two and in a fit of rage, he pushed her before a moving train. Though people in the station tried to save her, her life could not be saved. He fled from there before the police came. An investigation was conducted for Sathish by seven special teams. He was nabbed in between this. He was after Sathya for quite some time. Her parents had lodged a complaint against him. However, no action was taken.
