PALAKKAD: Police have registered a case on a complaint that a 17-year-old girl was sexually abused after giving her drugs and alcohol. The Ottapalam police registered a case against 14 people under the provisions of the POCSO Act.

The girl was allegedly sexually abused after taking her to various places in Kollam, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Wayanad. The accused sexually abused the 17-year-old girl after giving her MDMA, ganja and alcohol.

The police had earlier received a report claiming that the girl was used by the drug mafia for drug trafficking. Following this, the police subjected the girl to counseling. The information regarding sexual abuse came out during this counseling.
