THRISSUR: A patient was allegedly insulted by a doctor of the Daya Hospital, Thrissur. It was a man from Mammiyoor who came up with a complaint against Daya Hospital. The alleged incident took place when the complainant took his wife to the hospital for treatment. As per the complaint, the doctor advised the patient not to take rest and told her husband to go to the bar if he can't bear to see his wife's pain.
The complainant took his wife to Daya Hospital after she complained of severe leg pain. They then consulted Dr. Roy Varghese of the Vascular Surgery Department to examine her leg. When the wife said that she was experiencing severe pain, the doctor asked her to take an X-ray. When the couple went back to the doctor with the report, the doctor responded by saying that he could not solve the issue. The doctor then went on to tell the husband that he should go to the bar and drink if he could not bear to see his wife's pain. When asked if there was any kind of problem with the nerves in the leg, the doctor said that he did not know about it and there was no need for bed rest. The doctor also wrote this in the prescription.
