THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court will hear the anticipatory bail plea of MLA Eldhose Kunnappillil, accused in a rape case, on Saturday. As per the complainant woman, the MLA sexually harassed and physically harmed her. The case will be considered at eleven o'clock. There are indications that Eldhose will approach the High Court if he is not granted bail.
The prosecution will take a tough stand against granting bail to the MLA. But the defence will try to get bail citing the contradiction in the complaint of the woman. If the anticipatory bail application is rejected, the police have decided to go ahead with the arrest. Last day, the complainant's confidential statement was recorded before the magistrate.
It is reported that KPCC will take strict action against Eldhose Kunnapillil. There are indications that he will be likely suspended. But KPCC has decided to take action only after getting the MLA's explanation. The KPCC strengthened its stance as the MLA was also charged with rape on the teacher's complaint.
Opposition leader VD Satheesan also responded that the party will adopt a pro-women stance.
