THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court will take a decision on whether to grant anticipatory bail to Perumbavoor MLA, Eldhose Kunnappilly, on the 20th of this month. The argument proceedings are over in Eldhose Kunnappilly’s plea for anticipatory bail against a complaint filed by a teacher. The Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court had considered the MLA’s plea for anticipatory bail.

In the molestation case filed by the teacher, she accuses Eldhose Kunnappilly of raping her at different locations and abusing her physically. The MLA went into hiding after the Kovalam police registered a case against him.

The investigating officers were planning to arrest Eldhose Kunnappilly if his anticipatory bail plea was rejected. The prosecution strongly argued against granting anticipatory bail to the accused MLA and even produced the statement of the victim and also the evidence collected so far in the case.

The counsel for Eldhose Kunnappilly argued that the rape case was fake and that the complainant is accused in many other criminal cases. She already has two warrants issued against her. In addition, she is also accused of filing a fake case against a CI and an ASI.

The MLA’s lawyer also argued that on the day that the alleged crime took place, that is on 14th September, the police had arrived on the spot. The lady did not complain to the police at that time. The wound certificate was received from the hospital the next day. When the lady lodged a complaint on the 28th of last month, she did not make it clear that rape was committed.
